George Burley praised his side after yesterday's fine 2-1 victory away at Spurs. The Town manager failed to make any significant comment on the sending off of Teddy Sheringham as he didn't see the incident clearly.

Town's miserable run of 15 games without a Premiership win came to an end as goals from Finidi George and Alun Armstrong deservedly beat ten-man Tottenham. George Burley will hope that this first victory since the Derby game in August will finally bump-start Town's Premiership season. With Southampton losing at Manchester United Town are now just four points from safety.

Once again Town fans will travel home thinking their side ought to have got something from an away performance. Two Juan Pablo Angel goals put Villa in the lead after Finidi George had put Town ahead with a low drive from 25 yards. Despite the usual late flurry no equaliser materialised for Town.

Fog. That was the first thing we experienced in Milan. Our plane touched down in a pea-souper straight out of Sherlock Holmes' London and I hear several later flights were forced to land elsewhere.

Steve Burton was the hat-trick hero as Town had little trouble in taking apart Bristol City apart at Portman Road this evening. Town were two-up at half-time and by the end had added three more.

Reports today say that Amir Karic has been told by George Burley that he can leave the club. Karic joined for £700,000 from NK Maribor last Autumn, but has made just three appearances as sub since, all in the Worthington Cup last season.

Town were unlucky not to get their first away win of the season as first Pablo Counago and then Hermann Hreidarsson both hit the post. The game had swung both ways and was one of the more exciting 0-0 draws that you'll see.

In a surprise move Town have announced the return of Bryan Hamilton, as a first team coach alongside Tony Mowbray. Hamilton's return may prove controversial after his recent spell as manager at Norwich. The former Northern Ireland, Tranmere, Wigan and Leicester manager was present at Town's game last night and will start in his new position immediately, traveling with the Town party to Middlesbrough tomorrow.
